2025
In April, ACCA becomes officially hosted by UN Climate Change (UNFCCC), which aims to provide the initiative with a lasting institutional home–one that will enable ACCA to grow, deepen its impact, and continue striving towards its founding goals and mission. Find out more on UN Climate Change.
The ACCA Community grows to over 350 members.
2024
The ACCA Community comprises over 300 artists, curators, museum practitioners, gallerists, advocates, researchers, business leaders, and other stakeholders from the visual arts sector, representing more than 50 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, and Oceania.
In April, ACCA announces a partnership with UN Climate Change (UNFCCC). UN Climate Change commits to facilitate and support, within its resources and mandates, the work undertaken by community members and signatories under the Charter. UN Climate Change will, in its engagement with the Charter, be guided by UN principles, always dedicated to integrity and accountability, and to provide reporting via the best available established practices. The partnership is announced at The Hope Forum. UN Climate Change publishes press release.
2023
In September, ACCA announces its launch at the United Nations Headquarters during the 78th UN General Assembly. Press coverage by: The Art Newspaper, Art Dependence Magazine, Avvenire & Il Giornale dell’Arte (Italy), El Destape (Argentinia), Baeredygtigtkulturliv (Denmark), USA Art News .
In July, Julie’s Bicycle, Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC), the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art (CIMAM), and ART 2030 together found the Art Charter for Climate Action (ACCA).
ACCA develops its internal structure. Monthly meetings with the ACCA Steering Committee (Founding Alliance) and preparation for opening to ACCA Community and Signatories, supported by Bikubenfonden.
